This is my personal website on uofr.net. Here you will find pictures, links to friends' pages, computer-realted stuff, and amateur astronomy info. More info about my research and such can be found at my University of Iowa page.
Prior to coming to Iowa for grad school, I did my undergrad at the University of Rochester and graduated in May 2005. I am originally from Greece, NY, a town north of the city of Rochester. In my spare time, I am a computer hobbyist, amateur astronomer, and an emergency medical technician. Tabitha and I were married in December 2007. Check out our wedding photos.
I sometimes use Flickr to store and organize my photos. Go here to see all of my pictures on Flickr. Tabitha and I also have some pictures on our website. Here are some of the ones that I've organized with tags:

SlashdotHOWTOs and computer-related documents that may be useful:
HTML Primer: Introduction to making your own website.
Distcc HOWTO: A mini-HOWTO for setting up distcc under Gentoo Linux.
Some software I've written:
mp3receive: Gets and plays mp3 files from a server. The poor man's personal mp3 streamer. This was primarily written because my computer wasn't fast enough to decode and stream the music at the same time (using icecast). This Perl script uses an SSH or FTP server that stores the music collection, and a client machine that downloads a file one at a time and plays it. It downloads the next song while playing the current one, providing a continuous music stream. Good for those with limited bandwidth and few CPU cycles to spare. There is some documentation also.
zaurus_horde: A perl script that takes a Sharp Zaurus datebook XML file and puts it into a MySQL table for use with the Kronolith module of Horde. If this is actually useful to anyone out there, I'll be amazed. This was written for version 2.38 of the Sharp ROM and will not work with the version 3 ROM. (And I thought I was the only one that owned a Zaurus and used Horde...)
