I have a background in ECE, Windows desktop support and Linux systems administration.
Personal
I am a casual hockey player, Free Software afficionado and wiki gardener. I'm fluent in English and Russian. I live in NYC.
Skills
- Vim is my favorite text editor. I use it whenever I need to edit some text.
- Ruby, my favorite programming language and Rails, the great web framework.
- I have some experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- RHEL/CentOS is what our production systems run. I use Ubuntu for daily tasks.
- Some knowledge of Git and Subversion.
- Semantic markup with strict XHTML.
- XML, when appropriate, to exchange or store data and XSLT to convert it to other formats.
